Volunteer

One of the best ways to help the Humane Society of Putnam County is to volunteer your time. You can help out with fundraising or at Rescued Treasures and we are now accepting shelter volunteers as well.

Fundraising

The Humane Society of Putnam County organizes fundraisers throughout the year such as the Pet People Party and various mailing fundraisers. If you would like to contribute your time helping plan, setting up, or running these events, please e-mail [email protected]

We also welcome you to create and host your own fundraiser. Some successful fundraisers from other groups include: a backwards softball tournament and bar-be-ques with an entry fee, but the possibilities are endless. If you would like to host your own fundraiser, please e-mail [email protected], and we will assist in any way we can from advertising to people power. If you don’t need our help, feel free to send the proceeds to Humane Society of Putnam County, PO Box 444, Greencastle, IN 46135 with your name and a brief description of the fundraiser.

Rescued Treasures

Volunteering at Rescued Treasures is easy. Simply e-mail us at [email protected] or stop by, and we will set up an orientation for you. We ask that Rescued Treasures volunteers commit to a two hour time block each week, Wednesday-Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm. Volunteers will be responsible for sorting donations, setting up displays, and assisting customers. Experienced volunteers may be asked to run the cash register after additional training.

The Rescued Treasures volunteer form can be found here.
