Contribute to Our Endowments

The Humane Society of Putnam County benefits from the Humane Society of Putnam County Endowment and the Cooper Endowment Providing New Beginnings for Homeless Pets administered by the Putnam County Community Foundation.

The Humane Society of Putnam County Fund was established in 1992 for the purpose of aiding in shelter operation and humane programming. As of September 30, 2012, we had $314,216 in our endowment and can receive up to $13,805 in 2013. Contributing to this endowment provides flexibility for the Humane Society of Putnam County to enact special programming necessary to the community without restriction.

“New Beginnings for Homeless Pets” is a new endowment being started inlarge thanks to Karen and Charlie Cooper. This endowment will specifically fund the transportation of adoptable animals to areas with greater adoption demands, a service the Humane Society of Putnam County relies on when the shelter is running at full capacity. Any donation to this new endowment are tax-deductable and will be matched dollar for dollar. For the full story in the Greencastle Banner-Graphic, click here.
